15 February 2018 @ 8:00 AM - 16 February 2018 @ 5:00 PM

BACK to BASICS for a more SECURE FUTURE: A TWO-DAY NRW MANAGEMENT WORKSHOP

Presented by WLRandA Ltd (UK) and the JOAT Group of Companies (South Africa)

Thursday 15 and Friday 16 February 2018, at Tsogo Sun Elangeni Hotel, Durban

A review of NRW Problems, Practical Concepts and Workable Solutions

Speakers will include: Allan Lambert, Water Loss Research & Analysis Ltd, UK; Professor Kobus van Zyl, University of Cape Town; Mark Shepherd, JOAT Consulting, Durban

Overview of Workshop

The water supply problems experienced in South Africa during drought periods in the last few years have common features with problems experienced in other countries. Drawing on both local and international data sources and experiences, the speakers will facilitate discussions and exchanges of views in three main topic areas, relating to management problems in both the drawdown and recovery phases of drought events.

Some parts of the workshop will be retrospective, reinforcing the basic 4 components of managing leakage – pressure management, speed and quality of repairs, active leakage control and infrastructure management – together with water balance, night flow and fit for purpose performance indicators.  Other parts will be forward looking, providing value added advice, latest concepts and fast track calculations for practitioners, particularly in relation to understanding the many influences of pressure.

Workshop Takeaways

Each delegate will receive:

  • information on free website access to key papers, presentations and Guidance Notes
  • spreadsheets for ‘fast track’ calculations of recent advances in pressure management analysis.
  • personalised Portfolio of Training Evidence

Application has been made for each delegate to receive 2 CPD points for attending the course.
