The WISA 2024 Organising Committee seeks the services of a professional Media Consultant for the WISA 2024 Biennial Conference & Exhibition to be held at the Durban International Conference Centre, KZN, from 27 – 29 May 2024. CONDITIONS OF APPOINTMENT Successful SP will be required to sign a formal WISA Service Level Agreement (SLA), based on the service area, or combination of service areas, awarded to them. As part of the SLA Payment terms WISA will pay a maximum of 50% of the agreed fees prior to the event in agreed instalments based on the event’s ringfenced income, and the remainder of fees post event. The service provider should demonstrate their ability through providing the following: Ability: Demonstrate their ability to provide the required services as detailed in the brief outlined below. Financial Viability: Demonstrate their financial credibility and provide a Tax Clearance Certificate and a letter of Financial Good Standing from their Bank. B-BBEE: Demonstrate their BEE status by inclusion of a current, valid BEE certificate. Proven Track Record: Demonstrate their experience providing information on projects/campaigns they have managed. Please also indicate if you have arranged any conferences for WISA before. References: Submit at least three referees who will be contacted by representatives of the OC. CONFERENCE BACKGROUND AND GUIDELINES We seek the services of extremely professional, highly competent, well-managed, flexible and creative Service Provider (SP) to assist us in ensuring a profitable and highly successful conference. The WISA Conference is held every 2nd year. WISA aims to attract over 1000 physical delegates to the conference and public visitors to the trade exhibition. Most of these delegates are locally based with some international participants. It is envisaged that the conference will attract a wide spectrum of people and organisations from various specialities and allied disciplines to attend. The conference program usually consists of about 8-10 parallel sessions with workshops and symposia. This is complemented by a social programme and the trade exhibition. Invitation to the FirstRand Scholarships virtual presentation on 2 November at 10am. Interested parties must RSVP to giselle.ras@firstrand.co.za by 30 October, to register. FirstRand has entered into a five-year partnership with IHE Delft Institute for Water Education, the largest international graduate water education facility in the world, to allow for an outstanding South African student to undertake postgraduate study at IHE Delft in the Netherlands. This will be the second year of the partnership. The scholarship will provide full funding for one student a year to study for an MSc in Water and Sustainable Development at IHE Delft Institute for Water Education. FirstRand will conduct the interviewing and selection process, which will run concurrently with the FirstRand international postgraduate scholarship programme. Candidates will be assessed based on academic excellence, leadership ability, community involvement and their potential to be a destiny changer. Candidates have to apply to IHE Delft for an MSc and be accepted for any of the four thematic tracks: water, food and energy water hazards, risks and climate water and health water resources and ecosystem health FirstRand and IHE Delft are looking for the best applicant who will truly benefit from the opportunity and contribute to South Africa on their return.
