WISA Water Reuse Symposium

The Water Institute of Southern Africa (WISA)’s Water Reuse Division (WRD) is turning 10 years in 2023. To celebrate this milestone, the division will host a symposium, to promote and support the continued vision of the division. The objective of the WRD is to provide a communication forum for engineers, scientists, and practitioners to share information and knowledge on water reclamation, recycling and reuse in order to facilitate the implementation of safe water reuse practice in Southern Africa. The division therefore invites professionals, nationally and internationally, from the industry, municipal environment, and academia among others, to share their experiences, research and expertise in the upcoming symposium. Water scarcity is a global concern due to factors like population growth, urbanization and climate change. Water reuse offers an opportunity to alleviate pressure on freshwater sources while minimizing environmental impacts.
